The Season Has Come to an End

Well, the GreenJackets got swept in the playoffs and the season is over. The Jackets had the most wins and best ERA in all of Minor League Baseball and could not win one game in the playoffs. Tough loss, I have been sitting up at the stadium all morning.

I love baseball so much, I love calling games and hearing the crowd chear on a team when they do good. However, there is something magical and peacful when sitting in an empty stadium. The sun shining down, the bright green grass, and nobody there but myself and my thoughts, my church. It's my way of saying goodbye to the season and has become a bit of a tradition for me over the past three years.

One full day is not over yet and I am already counting the days till spring training again. I can't wait for Game 1 of the 2008, this year ended too early for me.

Now my attention will turn to the Cardinals as I get my baseball fix for another month and a half by watching on tv. Not the same as being at the ballpark everyday though.

Thanks for the memories GreenJackets, it was fun.

I'm Moving...Again-UPDATE

Many of you know already, some of you don't, but I am moving again. This will make four states in four years! I'm a roaming nomad that has yet to set down any roots and probably wont anytime soon. Maybe this will be a place I actually stay a while.

So where am I going you ask? I have accepted a position with the Augusta GreenJackets to be the Director of Broadcasting/Media Relations. The GreenJackets are the Single-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants and play in the South Atlantic League. This will be my second tour in the SAL and I can't wait to get started. The team is owned by Ripken Baseball so there could be some great opportunities to advance in the company.

I will be living in Augusta Georgia and the apartment complex I am looking at is about three miles from the stadium, so that should be pretty convenient.

Most importantly I will be doing play-by-play for all 140 games. I will also be doing your typical media relation duties. I might be doing some marketing as well and I will be doing sales too.

Since I am not totally sure on my new address, I really can't give that too ya. My phone number and email will stay the same for now. If you don't have that, lost it, or want it again let me know. If not, you can always contact me through the wonderful world of myspace.

If any of you are ever in the area, let me know and I will get you some tickets. Augusta also holds a little golf tournament called the Masters. I'm not too familiar with it but it supposedly is a big deal. If you want to come down and watch some golf let me know. I'm not sure if I can get you tickets for that though, probably give a couch to sleep on though.

That's it for now-

Later-
